Present situation of citrus production in China
The economic cultivation areas of Citrus in China are mainly between 20 degrees -33 degrees north latitude and below 1000 meters above sea level. Including Taiwan Province, there are 20 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in China, and 1075 counties (cities, districts) produce citrus.
Citrus production regions in China are divided into 6 citrus producing areas and 5 sub regions. Experts pointed out that the domestic citrus industry has natural advantages, such as long cultivation history and cultural tradition; production and supply and demand of the market has a good foundation; abundant germplasm resources, breeding and cultivation. But compared with other countries, China's citrus production has high potential to be further mining; market sales, China's citrus fruit consumption in the domestic market, the main export market is too concentrated in Asian countries, citrus processing products have a larger space for development.
In addition, in infrastructure, domestic citrus planting is mainly "mountain Beach", conditions are relatively poor; technology research is more, but the application system is still flawed, engaged in the production of most citrus farmers cultural level and low quality technology.
