Due to the imported fruit easy carry quarantine pests, so there is high pressure of quarantine and treatment; at the same time, untreated fruit the fresh-keeping period is short and perishable it bring great obstacles for fruit trade.

After the completion of the project, will use high-efficient, environmental health, thorough sterilization irradiation technology,and comprehensive utilization of irradiation system, for fruit quarantine treatment, to extend storage period. The daily exposure up to the total of more than 300 thousand kilograms, irradiation total of up to 120 million kilograms annual. Fruit irradiation as a quarantine treatment center can not only for fruit quarantine treatment, can also be irradiated vegetables, inhibition of germination, and extend the storage period; irradiated frozen meat and aquatic products, there is a wide range of uses.

According to information that China ASEAN Pingxiang fruit irradiation as a quarantine treatment centres was invested of 70 million yuan, the accelerator irradiation system of this project were provided by NUCTECH for imported fruit  irradiation quarantine treatment this project is the autonomous district people's government, with the NUCTECH joint strategic cooperation.it is a major project to promote local economic.Thist will become the first demonstration projects in our country and even in the world which at the port use electron irradiation technology to dispose the quarantine pests of fruit the advanced irradiation quarantine technology, superior operation capability, will greatly improve Pingxiang port quarantine capacity and improve the efficiency of customs clearance.
